My experience with children, students and adults center around stress and resilience; mindfulness and compassion; trauma; chronic illness and pain.
These clients constantly inspire and teach me through their wisdom and capacity to deal with life and life’s difficulties.
The counselling I have done for patients, families and personnel at Steve Biko Academic Hospital and other public health organisations has been one of the richest journeys of my life.
I teach psychology and medical students, as well as mentor psychology students in the practical work they do in our community projects.
In addition to facilitating mindfulness and compassion programmes, I train students from psychology and related fields in practical counselling skills.
My private practice is situated in Littleton Manor, Pretoria.

Lyn is a counselling psychologist in private practice. She works with individuals, adolescents, family and couples.
She practices from a collaborative, integrated perspective. When necessary, a mindfulness perspective is included. The benefits thereof cover a wide range of therapeutic concerns such as anxiety and recurrent depression.
She also runs 2-or-3 day creative workshops across South Africa which utilise conscious awareness and craft.
These are seriously fun days that ease the blockages and habitual patterns of “stuckness” in our day-today living. The 3-day weekend workshop is held on the beautiful Eastern Cape Coast at Blackrock.
Lyn is currently busy with her PhD in Consulting Psychology, researching the broader benefits of mindfulness therapy.
My private practice is situated in East London.
